Ok, due to popular demand, April is going to be the month of the child. Best picture of a striper with a kid (12 years and under) AND a small stuffed animal takes the month.

Well I don't fish with little kids, but if I carry a cuddly teddy bear with me will that suffice???

Here we got a stripe brought home for the table. Normally I put everything back but this one just wasn't going to make it. My son Levi had a long day on the water, and was ready for bed, but I still managed to pull off a shot. Nonetheless, he wasn't too happy with me getting this 10 pm pic.

Took a buddy and his 9 yr. old son, Tristan out Saturday. Tristan had never been on a boat, so he was really excited. It didn't take long, and we had him hooked up! Before the day was over we had 8 fish in the boat. We just kept handing him the rod. He was flat wore out by the time we left.

This is his first striper, and the biggest fish he has caught to date!

There were no fish harmed in the making of this picture!! Very Happy

Yeah, Levi was a little ticked, he was already in the bed, poor little guy. My wife's camera was acting up a bit, including the flash so we snapped a few and sent him back to bed. It was kinda funny though. The things daddy's do for a laugh. Very Happy

Here is one my 8yr old son Brody caught yesterday morning. Only had two hrs to fish before work and he is on spring break. Weighed in at 15lbs. We had caught a few cats and LM's, so when this one came up beside the boat, he was pumped and so was I as the whole lake heard a couple yells..

Fish released to get bigger....

Smile says it all....

Proud dad...

Apparently I can't follow directions very well......no stuffed animal...but you couldn't stuff any more excitement in my 6yr old little girl Jenna's smile in this pic...

Last week on the Yadkin she landed this striper.

This isn't her PB but she did want to mount it... I convinced her to let it grow..

After much deliberation with our panel of esteemed and highly qualified judges, a decision has been reached. This decision was not drawn easily and the winning photograph was hard to call. But due to personality and originality, KEN L is this month's photo contest winner! Congratulations Ken! Well done. Laughing

Guys, I never thought you would pick my photo. There were several other excellent entries. Would have come back with a better one, but working all the time has kept me off the water. If we do the kid and a striper photo again, I feel like I have an idea for a winner!

No long thank you speeches from me, just a big THANK YOU! Cool

I know it's too late and I don't really care anyway but I wanted to share this photo of my nephew who visited me again in mid april from SC. He is getting good at catching these big TN stripers and kicked his dad's ass again. This is only one of many he caught that day. I also put them on some trophy smallmouth a little closer to home.
